HOME ENERGY REBATES PROGRAMS

HOME ENERGY REBATES

The West Virginia Office of Energy is excited to announce the Department of Energy funded the Home Energy Rebate Programs, which consists of two rebate programs: the Home Efficiency Rebates (IRA Section 50121) and the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (IRA Section 20122).

  1. Home Efficiency Rebates (HER) will provide funding to reduce the initial cost of energy efficiency upgrades in both single-family and multi-family homes.
  2. Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) will provide funding for high-efficiency home appliances and equipment in both single-family and multi-family homes.

These historic funding streams will bring approximately $88 million to West Virginia residents to install energy-efficient technologies and perform upgrades to existing structures that will help cut down on energy costs.

Currently, the State of West Virginia is in the planning phase of these programs. Funds are not yet available for disbursement. Please check back on our website for the latest information and use the available resource links listed on this page.

The West Virginia Office of Energy hosted a second public input session on September 25, 2024 to solicit community feedback on the state’s Home Energy Rebate Programs. The objectives of this meeting were to address questions and concerns, gather feedback to maximize program design and effectiveness, and provide key administrators involved with the programs an opportunity to introduce themselves and their organizations to community members and other stakeholders.

If you were not able to attend the session and would like to share feedback, comments can be sent via email to WVOEInfo@wv.gov. Please include “Home Energy Rebates Comment” in the subject line. Comments received by October 2, 2024 will be considered in program development.
