Pre-conference Workshops

1:00-2:00 – Getting Juiced on the Job: Workplace Electric Vehicle Charging : Lead by Kelly Bragg & Tiffany Bailey of the WV Office of Energy This sessions provides an introduction to the benefits of electric vehicle charging at your workplace, with tips, tools and best practices.

1:00-2:30 – Energy Audits & Energy Efficiency Upgrades for your Business Lead by Dr. Bhaskaran Gopalakrishnan and Ashish Nimbarte of the WVU Industrial Assessment Center with Steve Webb of the WV Economic Development Authority - This session will provide resources on how to obtain a commercial/industrial energy audits and how to obtain financing for potential energy efficiency upgrades to your business.

2:00-3:00 - Facing Reality: Charting a Path Forward for WV’s Economy: Lead by Jeremy Richardson of the Union of Concerned ScientistsThis session will provide a brief overview of the science of climate change and its implications for reducing emissions to avoid the worst impacts. It will also offer ideas on a pathway forward for economies that depend on fossil fuels.

2:30-4:00 - How to Partner with the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL): Lead by James Ferguson - This session provides in introduction the many resources available through the National Energy Technology Laboratory and how your organization can partner with them to help advance energy in the Mountain State.

3:30-5:00 – Energizing Sustainable CommunitiesLead by Carolyn Sarno Goldthwaite & John Balfe of the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership - Energy efficiency initiatives can lead to energy and costs savings, amongst other benefits, for small and rural communities. This highly interactive session will highlight resources, case studies, and strategies for launching and sustaining energy efficiency initiatives at the local-level.
